Karaikudi Mani’s fans have reason to cheer. You can feel the equation between him and Harishankar, falling in total line to give a memorable concert. As hair and string come in contact, the instrument is lifted to new heights, an accomplishment unique to Lalgudi, deservingly mentioned in the CD cover. For classical lovers, this one is a treasure.

Tanjore S.Kalyanaraman

The hallmark of this concert is the scholarly RTP in 4 ragas namely Ranjani, Manoranjani, Janaranjani and Sriranjani in combination with spontaneous repartees from the accompanists. On the mridangam is the all time great revolutionary artiste Guru Kaaraikkudi Mani, a genius in his own right and a trail blazer among percussionists. A sparkling Tani Avarthanam by the great maestro is an added attraction to this concert.

John B. Higgins

John Higgins was an extraordinary musician, scholar, teacher, and human being. He is also recognized as the first non-Indian to perform South Indian classical Karnatak music at a high level of proficiency. Guru Kaaraikkudi mani in association with V.Thiagarajan on violin and V.Nagarajan on kanjeera shared the stage for this release.

T.N.Seshagopalan

The innate ability to communicate the most intricate musical expression with ease, simplicity and aesthetic charm by Sri. T.N. Seshagopalan along with brilliant following up by Guru kaaraikkudi Mani and an apt support by G.Harishankar on kanjeera and Nagai Muralidharan on the violin is a musical treat.
